The word mother can best be described as "a female parent" or "a woman of authority" states the Marriam Webster Dictionary. I as a new and first time mother I can agree with that definition. I myself have to be a woman who expresses authority, which is due to being a female parent. Being a mother has been the greatest gift that could be given to me.
The word Mother has around for centries. It has been the word that could start a fight between men, give you hope, give you a sence of comfort and warmth, and give you a voice.
When you hear such a name as Mother Teresa, you automatically feel hope and joy in yous soul. She was the founder of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, which is a Roman Catholic congregation of woman dedicated to the poor, particularly to the destitute of India. She was also given a Nobel Prize for peace in the year 1979.
When you hear the name Mary Harris (Mother) Jones you probably think of the word strong. She was widely known in the United States as a fiery agitator for the Union Rights of coal miners and other workers. She was born May 1, 1830 and died November 30, 1930.
Last but, not least there is the holiday Mother's Day, which is observed all around the world to give thanks and appreciation to our loving, imperfect at times, wonderful mother's. Whithout woman becoming mother's there would be no PTA's, soccer practice, cookie making, or all other things mother's do.
So, thank the heavans for the existance of mother's.
