1. Try clustering to form topic ideas.
2. You have to understand the assignment.
3. You can free write to get a narrowed idea of what you wish to discuss.
4. To gather facts you should ask yourself who, what, where, and when. Including how.
5. Make sure you do additional research.
6. Do a thesis checklist
